On March 26, 2019, Party Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Qi Yu visited the photo exhibition in the Exhibition Hall D of the Foreign Ministry under the theme “Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Make Greater Achievements, Keep in Mind Our Mission and Open up a New Charter—the Third Anniversary of the Establishment of China Diplomatic Academy”. Representatives from the leading groups of the Foreign Ministry training work, including the Department of Personnel, the Administrative Department, the Department of Finance, the Department for Party-related Affairs (Department for Diplomatic Missions Abroad) and the China Diplomatic Academy were also present.

Secretary Qi Yu congratulated the China Diplomatic Academy on its substantial development in training scale, quality and effects in the past three years since its establishment. He fully recognized the China Diplomatic Academy’s contributions to the team construction of diplomats, and extended appreciation to all comrades of the China Diplomatic Academy. Secretary Qi Yu said, the training is of fundamental, strategic and pioneering significance in the construction of the team of diplomats. It is hoped that the China Diplomatic Academy will learn from the experience, keep forging ahead, and align with the need of Major-country Diplomacy with Chinese characteristics and team construction, strive to address the bottlenecks, so as to promote better development of the China Diplomatic Academy. Secretary Qi Yu particularly stressed that understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy should be the main task and top priority of training in the next step. Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy should be put in a prominent place in the training curriculum of cadres from various departments of all levels. At the same time, we should make full use of the platform of the China Diplomatic Academy to promote Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy and the great achievements that we have made in the past 40 years of reform and opening-up to the world, and tell China’s stories and the Communist Party of China well.
